Good Friday 2017 Date, History, Quotes, Wishes, Images

Good Friday is said to be the day when Jesus Christ was crucified by the Romans. It was a Friday. The Thursday before Good Friday is known as last supper day or Maundy Thursday. Jesus rose back from dead two days after his crucifixion. The day known as Easter Sunday is celebrated two days after Good Friday.

Good Friday 2017 will fall on April 14.

Many people wonder why it is called “Good” Friday if Jesus was murdered on this day. This is because Jesus came back to life just two days after and it is all-in-all an occasion for celebration, commonly known as Easter weekend.

The day is also known by some other names including Great Friday, Black Friday, Holy Friday or Easter Friday.

History of Good Friday

Jesus Christ was arrested by Pontius Pilate court in the Garden of Gethsemane, right after the last supper. He was then tried and crucified by the Romans. The day is observed as Good Friday.
