Why do we celebrate Easter (History of Easter)
There are many histories and stories behind the celebration of Easter, but the most common one is related to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As we mentioned above, it is said that Jesus Christ (Christian God figure) was crucified and killed by Romans accounting him guilty of declaring himself the Jewish royal messiah and provoking others to do the same. The day Jesus died was Friday, and is observed as Good Friday.
It is said that after two days of his death, Jesus rose again from the dead, and so the day is known as the resurrection day or Easter day.

Good Friday is the first day of the Easter weekend. It is celebrated as a Christian religious holiday to remember the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. It is also known as Black Friday, or Easter Friday.
